As a therapeutic experiment, C57BL/6 mice were exposed to air or CS for 3 days to fully develop lung inflammation and were subsequently treated by intra-peritoneal injection with vehicle (dimethylsulfoxide) or SB203580 (45 mg/kg) 30 min before CS exposure at days 4 to 6.
