• Studies that consider the costs of asthma from either the individuals', the health services', and/or society's perspective

• Studies that consider asthma with other comorbidities (such as allergies, COPD, etc)

• Pharmacodynamic or pharmacokinetic studies

• Studies that did not quote costs in the results section

• Animal or in vitro studies
