  1. FEV 1 forced expiratory volume in 1 s, PAD peripheral arterial disease
  2. Adjusted for age, sex, education, smoking, physical activity, waist circumference, diastolic blood pressure, triglycerides, fasting plasma glucose, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma and medications (aspirin and/or lipid lowering medication)
  3. Arterial stiffness: brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) ≥1400 cm/s
