Forrest plot of the result of univariate analysis for radiological usual interstitial pneumonia (UIP) pattern as a risk factor. The result of univariate analysis in four studies was pooled for meta-analysis. Radiological UIP pattern was not significantly associated with the development of acute exacerbation (AE) of systemic autoimmune disease-associated interstitial lung disease (ILD) with a risk ratio (RR) of 1.55 (95% confidence interval: 0.57–4.25, p = 0.39). There was mild and statistically non-significant heterogeneity (chi2 = 3.91, p = 0.27, I2 = 23%)
