Mycoplasma pneumoniae (Mp) levels in the supernatants of a cell-free 96-well plate. Various isomers of albuterol (10 μM) and formoterol (10 nM) or PBS (control, (-)) were incubated in quadruplicate with Mp (4 × 104 CFU per well) for 2 hours. Mp levels did not (p = 0.78) significantly change following treatments with (R)-albuterol [(R)-alb], racemic albuterol [Rac-alb], (S)-albuterol [(S)-alb], (R,R)-formoterol [(R,R)-form], racemic formoterol [Rac-form] or (S,S)-formoterol [(S,S)-form].
