Receiver operating characteristic curves for the 30-day mortality. The curves are based on logistic regression models for risk prediction, incorporating the following: Model 1, shock on admission + altered mental state + active cancer (AUC = 0.64; 95% CI, 0.53–0.74); Model 1 + RV/LV ratio + renal dysfunction (AUC = 0.70; 95% CI, 0.59–0.76); Model 1 + RV/LV ratio + renal dysfunction + SIRS satisfying the WBC criterion (AUC = 0.76; 95% CI, 0.66–0.85), P = 0.05 versus Model 1.
