Composite parameters for predicting 3-month mortality in patients with ARDS and AE-ILDs. In both patients with ARDS and AE-ILDs, we evaluated the predictability for the 3-month mortality. In patients with ARDS, composite parameters including serum HO-1, P/F ratio, age and sex for prediction of 3-month mortality showed a higher AUC (0.925) than AUCs of a single predictor (only HO-1; 0.783) or combination of two (HO-1 and age; 0.783) or three predictors (HO-1, age, and sex; 0.917) (a). Also, in patients with AE-ILDs, composite parameters including serum HO-1, P/F ratio, age and sex for prediction of 3-month mortality showed a higher AUC (0.892) than AUCs of a single predictor (only HO-1; 0.685) or combination of two (HO-1 and age; 0.708) or three predictors (HO-1, age, and sex; 0.714) (b)
