The CT scan demonstrated mixed-type 3rd lumber spine metastasis (GEF w/o RT group) (a). The patient was treated with gefitinib alone because the stability of the spine was deemed sufficient to preclude RT. Local PR was achieved as noted on CT two months after the start of gefitinib (b), However, osteolytic bone destruction became evident again after 1.2 years from the start of treatment and was considered to have lost sclerotic response (c)
