From: Vitamin D3 improved hypoxia-induced lung injury by inhibiting the complement and coagulation cascade and autophagy pathway

Fig. 7

VD3 attenuated autophagy in lung of hypoxia-induced rats. Thirty SD rats were randomly divided into the normoxia group, hypoxia group, and vitamin D3 (VD3, 1,25-(OH)2-D3) group with 10 rats in each group. A mRNA levels of LC3B-II, p62, and Beclin-1were determined through RT-qPCR. B and C The expression of LC3 I, LC3 II, p62, and Beclin-1 in lung were assessed using Western blot analysis. Load control: β-actin. D and E PINK1, Parkin, and Mfn1 protein expression were measured by Western blot analysis. COXIV, mitochondria loading control. Means and standard deviations (SD) were used to represent the data. Statistical analyses (two group comparisons) were performed using Students t-test. ** P < 0.01 vs Normoxia, # P < 0.05 vs Hypoxia, ## P < 0.01 vs Hypoxia
